Who we are

RE-NUT_Werbefilm_Still075RE-NUT® is a licensing company dedicated to transforming how nuts are processed by introducing the innovative "In-shell Inside" approach. Through this unique method, we process nuts in their natural shells, helping to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 6, and 12. Traditional nut processing typically involves removing the shell, a step that unfortunately leads to the loss of valuable nutrients such as fiber and antioxidants. By retaining the shell, RE-NUT® preserves these essential natural elements, maximising the nutritional benefits in each of our products. 

In-cycle 

Our "In-Cycle" concept at RE-NUT® underscores our commitment to sustainable production. This concept is executed through three distinct methods: the in-shell Water-based Process, the Oil-based in-shell Process and the Water-based in-hull process. These approaches are designed to maintain the nutritional integrity of the nut kernel and shell, enhance fiber content, and reduce added sugars in semi-finished products. This allows us to deliver healthier, more sustainable options that meet modern consumer demands for nutrient-rich and eco-friendly foods. 

Large food manufacturers are seeking ways to meet growing demand for nut-based products while reducing waste and environmental impact. We introduce you to RE- NUT’s revolutionary in-shell nut processing technology, which allows processing nuts without discarding the shells or hulls, turning what was once a waste stream into value. Nutshells are typically treated as waste (often burned or used as animal bedding) despite being packed with fiber and antioxidants. RE-NUT’s technology “upcycles” these shells into the food stream instead of using them for energy (biomass) or bedding in dairy farms, recovering a lost resource for human nutrition.

How it works

RE-NUT’s in-shell processing is comprised of three patented and unique innovative processes:

1. Water-based method (shell)

This method processes nuts with the shells, yielding multiple products from the whole nut. The process produces clean-label nut milk and creamer with only 2 ingredients (nuts + water), along with a high-fiber nut flour – all with zero waste. By using the entire nut, manufacturers can generate new revenue from what was previously discarded.

2. Oil-based method

This method processes nuts with the shells and yields high quality, clean label and high-fiber nut butters, allowing for lower sugar content and better nutritional values than the traditional process.

3. Water based method (hull)

This method processes nuts with shells and hull, with 4x yield of milks and flours with even higher antioxidants and fibres than the in-shell process.

Why it matters

This approach maximizes the value of each nut, increasing usable output and profit while significantly cutting waste. It also reduces upstream resource pressure (fewer nuts needed for the same output) and aligns with circular economy principles. In short, in-shell processing turns an environmental challenge into a competitive advantage for food manufacturers.
